I am a really fun and goofy person I would say. I am also the friend that everyone comes to for advice on styling and which outfits they can get away with. I am currently employed at Bebe and NYX, trying to stay close to my passion. I am very hardworking and passionate with anything that I do” In this interview we talk her future clothing line plans, spring trends and more !
We weren’t poor but we weren’t rich either and when I wasn’t able to attend my dream college it sparked an idea in my head.- Yasmin
Q: What are some of your favorite spring trends ?
Yasmin: COLORS. I loveee loveee loveeee to wear bold colors in the spring. Also for women I love playful, fun, and flirty dresses and skirts.
Q: What do you love about fashion?
Yasmin: I have loved fashion since I was a child, growing up I would wear the weirdest prints and bold colors that many people were afraid to wear. I love fashion and everything about it from the different styles (streetwear, couture, high end, casual, etc). I really love how it’s so versatile and gives people the opportunity to express themselves without actually doing so. Like how you can arrange multiple pieces to fit your style. I look at it like this, fashion is your way of expressing yourself without having to say a word, it’s a form of art.
Why not take something I love and am very capable of doing and turn it into something that is multi beneficial.- Yasmin
Q: Tell us about your upcoming brand.
Yasmin: I am in the process of creating my brand for my clothing line. It all started when I was younger, I always wanted to help people. I was the little girl who would take some of her allowance and give it to the homeless. I could never seem to conjure up a way to use that as a way to help others. I finally realized that I wanted to be a designer and decided to take the two things I am passionate about and combine them for a greater cause. I want my clothing brand to be legendary and to continue to remain after I am no longer here on Earth.
I want my brand to be able to change people’s dreams into reality, hence the name of my brand is just an acronym for that. I would like to send people to college and to help people who’s family can’t afford to send them to college out. I would love to create a program that aides the homeless by providing housing and helps establish and connect them with employment options to help them get back on their feet because everyone deserves a second chance. I’ve struggled in the past and I know what it feels like when financial situations are the reason you cannot go to school or to pursue your dreams and I want to minimize the number of people that actually happens to, all through the perfect layout and execution of cloth, needles, and thread.I also plan to start a blog and vlog for fashion and makeup trends and advice, also to give people a view of my everyday life and how to become the person they dream of being.
Q: What inspired you to start your brand ?
Yasmin: My lifestyle growing up and my mom inspired me to start my brand. We weren’t poor but we weren’t rich either and when I wasn’t able to attend my dream college it sparked an idea in my head. Why not take something I love and am very capable of doing and turn it into something that is multi beneficial.
Q: Where are your favorite places to shop ?
Yasmin: Bebe, Express, Forever 21, Fashion Nova, H&M, almost anywhere I can find cute clothing 🙂
Q: How would you describe your style ?
Yasmin: I would describe my style as versatile, sometimes I may walk in with a very feminine look, slaying with a 6 inch pump. Other times I may dress in streetwear. My style is very inimitable, and original.
I want my brand to be able to change people’s dreams into reality – Yasmin
Yasmin: The jumpstart of my business, introducing a brand that doesn’t limit anyone from shopping there due to size, height, gender, etc. I would also love to start my blog and vlog.
