Shout out to all of our Tumblr supporters . We’ve reached 1 thousand followers . We ❤️ you 😘

Hey guys !

Happy 2018 !!! , it’s crazy right ? Like can you believe this year will make it 4 years since I started Fxshnjunke ? Where does the time go ? … Anyways , I have so much to update you guys on and have some news to share as well.

First , a lot of you guys have been so supportive and understanding of me taking a break from posting on the blog back in December when I posted on Instagram ( @fxshnjunkeblog) that I will be taking the entire December off . I had a great holiday spending time with my boyfriend , my family and getting some well needed “ME” time . I hope you guys had a great holiday as well . One of my good news is that while I was taking time off I also was prepping for my brand new job that I started at the beginning of January , I couldn’t have thanked God enough for blessing me with this job it came at the right time !

Even though I wasn’t actively posting I still was making sure I stayed updated with the latest outfits a lot of my followers were putting out, keeping up the latest tea from The Shade Room ( yes , its like my morning news , lmao ) and so much more . Thank you to everyone who continuously showed so much love by still tagging me in their outfit photos even though I wasn’t posting , you guys are true supporters !!! Also thank you to everyone who was checking on me to see if I was okay during my time off . In other news I’m excited to announce that I will be relaunching FXSHNJUNKESTORE this spring and I cannot wait until you guys see what I have been working on so make sure you’re following the store page ( @fxshnjunkestore).

Last but not least , what you all have clicked on this post for . I saved this for last because I wanted to give you guys an update on why I haven’t been posting. Unfortunately this might become a semi- permanent decision and let me explain why :

1. Over the past 4 years as I begin to meet so many dope people on Instagram through Fxshnjunke , a lot of people would say that they thought the blog was ran by “a lot of people” or “a lot of girls ” but nope ! It was only just little ole me . No interns , no assistants , no employees , just ME . Back when I started the blog I didn’t know it would became what is it today. My initial agenda was to learn how to become a wardrobe stylist . I’ve always loved going to the mall when I was younger to shop for cute clothes , shoes , accessories and handbags so I came up withthis bomb idea in my head thinking … ” What if I could train myself how to dress by posting cute outfits that I would wear ? ” I used to have a tumblr page called dancejunkie ( hence the name FXSHNJUNKE 😏) . We all know that tumblr is pretty much a blog site where you post or repost anything you like , want , or whatever the case may be and in my case I would post mostly dance related pictures , Beyoncé ( like who wouldn’t ?) , food and other dope shit ! That page is probably still up til this day because I never deleted it and I started a brand new tumblr page for Fxshnjunke . ( Side note: I haven’t been on tumblr in a min ! Lol ) Anyways I started to post daily outfits every single day and I did not know that I grow to have over 13,000 people following my blog today. With me having a full time job now , its way more harder for me to be consistent on the blog with me doing everything by myself and truth is , I’ve been wanting to hire interns/writers/bloggers to work under me to keep the blog going , but I’m the type of person who wants to compensate people for their work . Fxshnjunke hasn’t been profitable, meaning all of the posts and interviews I’ve done in the past were all organic FREE content which means I didn’t get paid for it and if I didn’t get paid then none of my employees would have gotten paid too right ? But you never know what the future might bring …

2. I started to notice I wasn’t reaching my goals that I created for myself with the blog and that was due to many reasons but the one that stood out the most was that it was because something was missing, and that something was ME . I never really posted myself on the blog like I should have and that’s my own fault. I should have been more active but I felt that people didn’t really want to see me because they’re so used to seeing daily outfits and other content that if I post myself nobody would really care or pay much attention to it . After while , I stopped posting as frequently as I usually would and back then I would have up to 20-30 photos already screen-shotted in my phone ready to post the next day, have about 5 blog interviews waiting to be edited , and a video in the works , faithfully creating . Unfortunately , In the past year or so I started to notice that I lost my motivation and the passion I once had for it when I started it 4 years ago and I couldn’t figure out for the life of me why I was feeling this way and that’s when I actually figured it out. I started to think to myself that maybe blogging wasn’t for me.

3. It’s time for me to work on me for me . I’ve enjoyed doing so many blog interviews , video interviews , posting fashion outfits and more for the past 4 years on the blog but I never really been active on my own personal IG ( @dasiatheceo) or put myself on my own blog lol smh ( I know imma mess , lol ) but this year I’m taking control and putting everything I want into the universe and I’m not stopping until I accomplish everything I set for myself for 2018. This year I’m going to be focused on getting my own life right and doing things that I’ve been wanting to do . As of now , I’m more focused on working , stacking , and staying prayed up !

I feel like with me being in my 20s I’m still trying to find myself and really trying to figure out what my purpose in life really is . If you watched my very first video about How I Started My Blog , you will know that I’ve been dancing ever since I was 5 years old and pretty much pushed it to the side and dropped out of college because I started the blog and I believed that this was really going to be my career path. I originally wanted to go to school get my degree in Fashion Merchandising and become an entrepreneur . I do proclaim myself to be an freelance entrepreneur because I’ve self taught myself so many things about running a business , I mean I’ve had my store to be opened 3 times and I should know how to do t right ? Lol, . As I sat back and thought about how much I’ve accomplished with this blog I stared to realized that Fxshnjunke me was my college . I don’t regret the decisions I’ve made in the last because if I didn’t I wouldn’t have the supporters I have now and I’m truly thankful for that ! I’m pretty sure I’m not the only who is going through this stage where I’m still having trouble trying to figure out what God really wants me to do in life , so from this day forward I am on this self development journey to find myself and grow into the woman I’m supposed to be . As far as the blog , you won’t be seeing a lot of content like you’ve seen in the past few years . Don’t think of this as a goodbye for good , but a goodbye for now .

If you guys would like to get to know me more and stay updated with me follow my personal IG and Twitter @dasiatheceo . I hope you guys can understand the good/sad news and will continue to support me , my brand and my follow my endeavors . Thanks to everyone again who have been following the blog since Day 1 , y’all the real MVPs .

Always remember it’s FXSHNJUNKE FOREVER<

ove Dasia 😘

Here is an exclusive unseen interview that all of my fashion readers will enjoy . I had the pleasure of interviewing one of my good friends and DMV native , Michael Jachuku Howard , 20, about his style , aspirations , future goals and more . Read more below !

Dasia : Tell me something about yourself ?
Michael : I am a fashion design student at Marymount university, Co-founder of Eternal DC, Poet, Aspiring musical artist and your local black boy with locks trying to make it in America. I love anime, adventures, incense and white wine.
Dasia : What inspired you to get into fashion ?
Michael : There really was not just one thing in particular, Fashion in a way just came to me. I always liked clothes but I was never able to buy them. My parents wanted me to invest more time into my mind rather than my outer appearance, so going shopping was a big thing for me back in the day. The only times I could go would be when my mom went thrifting or for my birthday.  As you can probably tell this made it pretty hard to accumulate clothes. Things got a little more serious in high school when everything is about clothes! If I had to give a source of my inspiration I would have to say Ian Connor unfortunately. He just was able to shatter so many ideas and barriers with his style and look alone. Even though his personality is highly debatable. However at the end of the day the longing to express myself in a way that was different than others is what pushed  me to redesign my self every day with every outfit to see who I could become and who I was myself.

Dasia : How would you describe your style ?
I never really try to describe or put my style into a sub category. I say this mainly because I do multiple things consistently rather than just one specific thing consistently. Often people will call me Asap Rocky, some call me Rick James , some call me Lenny Kravitz and of course every member of the Migos. I guess my style is somewhere in between there or just call me a jack of all trades if you want to give me a title at all.
Dasia : How do you think men fashion evolved from over the years ?
Michael : I don’t think it has really evolved that much to be honest with you if we are looking at fashion from a eurocentric standpoint. For a very long time men have focused their everyday fashion to suits. If we look to the 1700s to pretty far into the 1900s fashion was based on suiting and professional wear. Slack, button downs , polos, blazer. Besides color and patterns, these clothing staples have not been altered that much. Now that our everyday fashion has been focused more on sportswear or what would be considered streetwear we have taken more liberty to experiment with shapes and forms. This has given us the ability to evolve to some degree . I feel like a major shift in the ways in which we identify a shape as aesthetic is when male fashion and fashion in general will evolve and continue to grow.

Dasia : What are some of your favorite trends ?
Michael : I like that baggy is coming back as a trend! I think graphic tees are forever a classic so they will never die! I love that even though everyone isn’t exploring fashion as a society I think we’ve became little more open about accepting and critiquing fashion which is a good steep in the future as well. I’m also very into the grunge and punk influence, as we are starting to pick up it makes me feel very powerful when I wear my choker or my creepers.
Dasia : Tell me about Eternal DC . How are you affiliated ?
Michael : Eternal DC is a clothing line I co-founded with my best friend Jamaal Franklin. We wanted to make something that would mean something to us and other people which launched our idea for the brand. I have worked different parts of the brand from event planning to designing, marketing ,editing , pretty much everything except photography.

Dasia : What are you going to school for ? What are your plans after you graduate ?
Michael: I am in school for Fashion Design, Hopefully when I leave school I can work for a creative company or design house. These are things I would definitely enjoy doing something of that nature.
Dasia : Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years ?
Michael : In 5 years I will have a solid platform for myself and be making a income off of my craft. In five years I will be happy. I can not give concrete ideas about where I will be in the end because life changes. You should have a direction and a focus but that does not mean things can not and will not change. You have to be open to let certain blessings fall into your life !
